Meet the Team: Sean Jackson our new Business Development Manager (North & Scotland)
11 November, 2025
We’re thrilled to introduce Sean Jackson, our newest Business Development Manager covering the North of the UK and Scotland. With over a decade of industry experience, Sean brings fresh energy and a customer-centric approach to the RDS team. We sat down with him to learn more about what makes him tick—both in the office and beyond.
RDS: Sean, what’s your role at RDS, how long have you been in it, and what do you enjoy most about it?
Sean Jackson: I’m the Business Development Manager for the North of the UK and Scotland. By next week, I’ll have been with RDS for eight weeks—though I bring more than ten years of industry experience with me.
What I love most is the freedom to pull from a diverse portfolio of devices and solutions to meet each customer’s unique needs. Unlike roles tied to a single product with restrictive terms or rising costs, here I can offer flexible, tailored options that truly serve the client. That ability to deliver real, customer-focused value is what makes this role so rewarding.
RDS: What inspired you to join the RDS team?
Sean: It was the company’s genuine commitment to flexibility and bespoke, customer-first solutions.
Over my ten-year career, I’ve seen too many rigid, one-size-fits-all models fail businesses. RDS stood out as a partner that puts the customer’s evolving needs first, offering adaptable solutions that grow with them. That ethos aligned perfectly with my own values, and I wanted to be part of a team empowering clients to make smarter, strategic decisions.
RDS: What’s been the most exciting project you’ve worked on so far?
Sean: Honestly, these first eight weeks have been a deep dive into our product portfolio and customer conversations—learning their challenges and goals first hand.
I’ve already supported solution design discussions that highlight our flexibility. One highlight was guiding a customer away from a locked-in legacy system toward a more agile, cost-effective setup. Seeing that “lightbulb” moment and proving RDS’s real-world value was incredibly exciting.
RDS: What unique skill or perspective do you bring to the team?
Sean: I blend visionary creativity with practical execution, fuelled by a passion for technology and innovation.
Colleagues call me a “prototype pusher” and “legacy-minded craftsman”—I love exploring cutting-edge solutions while ensuring they’re built to last. I tackle every challenge with curiosity, energy, and a focus on creating tech that solves today’s problems and stands the test of time.
RDS: How would your teammates describe you in three words?
Sean: They’d probably say: geeky, loyal, and energetic.
I’m deeply passionate about tech, fiercely committed to the team, and bring high energy to everything—whether it’s exploring new solutions or supporting colleagues. Curiosity, reliability, and drive define how I show up.
RDS: What’s something you’ve learned recently that’s helped you grow professionally?
Sean: I’ve been focusing on how I learn best—a small shift with a big impact.
By understanding how I process and retain information, I now approach complex topics more effectively, remember key insights longer, and make sharper business decisions. It’s boosted my confidence and made me a stronger contributor to the team.
RDS: What do you enjoy most about working at RDS?
Sean: The sense of purpose and shared ownership. RDS creates an environment where everyone is motivated to contribute meaningfully and grow together. And of course—having a wide range of solutions to match the diverse needs of customers out there.
RDS: In one sentence, how would you describe our team culture?
Sean: Trust, accountability, and long-term partnership—where doing the right thing, even unseen, and going the extra mile are just how we operate.
RDS: Fun fact—something most colleagues don’t know about you?
Sean: I’m fascinated by history, and the oldest thing I own is around 3,000 years old.
RDS: How do you unwind outside of work?
Sean: Metal detecting and being outdoors—it’s surprisingly similar to business development. Both demand patience, research, strategy, and a sharp eye for opportunity. You secure permission, qualify the site, dig into the history, then prospect carefully. It’s all about focus and discovery.
Beyond that, I’m into radio-controlled vehicles, automotive tech, and anything hands-on. Keeps me sharp and connected to innovation even in my downtime.
Welcome to the team, Sean!
We’re excited to see the impact you’ll make across the North and Scotland. If you’re in the region and looking for flexible, future-proof display solutions, reach out to Sean—he’s ready to help your business thrive.
