RDS expands industrial display capabilities with MIP, e-Paper, TFT, OLED and Micro LED technologies
05 August, 2026
Review Display Systems is strengthening its support for industrial customers with a new comprehensive range of rugged display technologies engineered for demanding environments.
The UK specialist supplies Memory-in-Pixel (MIP), e-Paper, TFT LCD, OLED and Micro LED solutions, each selected to match specific power, readability and durability requirements across manufacturing, logistics and process industries.
Technology and Uses
MIP displays store image data within each pixel, retaining static content with near-zero power draw after updates. Their reflective design provides strong sunlight readability, making them well suited to battery-powered sensors, handheld meters, status indicators, smart thermostats and portable industrial instruments that prioritise long battery life and outdoor visibility.
E-Paper displays consume power only when the image changes and deliver paper-like clarity in bright conditions. RDS offers large-format modules, including monochrome and colour options, ideal for electronic shelf labels, warehouse signage, logistics tracking tags, remote monitoring stations and outdoor information displays where energy efficiency and wide viewing angles are essential.
TFT LCDs continue to serve as the reliable mainstay for industrial applications. High-brightness, optically bonded panels with wide operating temperature ranges (typically –40°C to +85°C) and robust sealing support factory automation HMIs, process control panels, machinery interfaces and outdoor kiosks that require colour graphics, fast response and proven long-term availability.
OLED technology delivers high contrast, wide viewing angles and rapid response in a thin, lightweight form factor. It is increasingly specified for premium industrial systems that need clear visualisation in variable lighting or compact equipment designs.
Micro LED and micro-OLED options provide self-emissive performance with high brightness, excellent contrast and strong resistance to burn-in. These are suited to demanding visualisation tasks that require sunlight readability and extended operational life.
RDS integrates these display technologies with optical bonding, custom enclosures, projected capacitive touch interfaces and full engineering support, including lifecycle management.
Daniel Burke Marketing Manager at RDS said, “This combination of supply and services enables industrial users to select the most appropriate solution for them, helping to speed products to market, improve reliability, enhance operator interfaces and reduce total cost of ownership."
